Volunteers

Volunteers have formed a crucial part to the continuing success of Friends of Mutale, especially with the after school club and with in the local primary school. Volunteers have come from the USA, UK, Cuba and France through a partner organisation called Venda Volunteering

Volunteers assist with in the primary school helping local teachers who are under staffed at the best of times. Many of the teachers have two or three roles to play; teacher, finance officer and school secretary! Having volunteers help relieve some of the pressure on teachers and expose students to a world they have not known before. Volunteers tend to stay from 1 month to 3 months though we are looking at expanding this length of time. Only after 1 month do students and volunteers first truly understand each other, it take this length of time for the volunteers to feel part of the village and part of the way of life.

Volunteers are always needed, we need volunteers to help in crèches, primary schools, after school clubs and with the mobile toy library. For more information please check out Venda Volunteering
